Deborah Kalkstein’s background gives her the unique ability to position her design work in a spatial and environmental context. Peruvian-born, she received her degrees in architecture from the Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima. She was a practicing architect in Lima with Marcos Kalkstein Architects before moving to Hogar, Peru's largest home furnishing store, where she was director of interior design. She launched her interior design business in the United States in 1989 and in 1996 introduced her furniture line Modulo at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. Recent commercial and residential projects include the headquarters of Bachrach Asset Management and World Bank residences in Budapest, Kiev, Sophia, Lima, and Moscow.

Jessica Mowery,
member ASID

Jessica is a refreshing designer who started with Contemporaria two years ago. Open, communicative, and friendly—she approaches design from both a highly professional yet personal manner. Her vivid life, natural talent, distinctive style, and ability to intuitively read her clients have made Jessica a successful designer. Committed to knowledge and expertise in her field, Jessica is a member of the America Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and is currently completing her advanced degree of Master of Interior Design from the Corcoran College of Art and Design. Much of her life has been spent living and traveling abroad and these experiences have blended seamlessly in Jessica’s style: a contemporary marriage of space, light and color. Her goal is to form a close relationship and a creative partnership with her clients in order to create homes that are intimate, comfortable and beautiful. Jessica works with her clients' particular interests and chosen themes. She takes cues from historical objects, items from various cultures, and favorite possessions to create unique surroundings.
